Prophylaxis
Oral and dental hygiene
Caries and gum disease are predominantly behavior-related diseases. They can almost always be avoided with the help of professional prophylactic measures, systematic oral and dental hygiene and a health-conscious diet.
You yourself must share responsibility if you want to laugh with healthy teeth for a lifetime. We advise and support you with your prophylaxis program.
Dental hygiene
Professional tooth cleaning
Professional dental cleaning serves to prevent and maintain teeth and gums. Later damage and expensive repairs can be avoided with regular professional teeth cleaning.
It is recommended that you have this professional cleaning carried out every 6 months at your dental practice. It goes beyond the usual removal of plaque and tartar and intensifies the usual check-up.
Regular check-ups
Early detection of diseases of the oral cavity
Malignant diseases of the oral mucosa (oral cavity cancer) do not develop suddenly "overnight", but develop from precursors over a long period of months and sometimes years. These precursors are often visible to the naked eye. By regularly examining the mouth, precancerous lesions can be detected and subsequently removed.
Childhood prophylaxisProtect your children's teeth
Child prophylaxis includes tooth brushing school, nutritional teaching, professional teeth cleaning and tooth sealing.
Let us advise you on a healthy diet and proper dental care for children and take your child for regular prophylaxis. Our prophylaxis team will playfully practise proper tooth brushing with the children and clean, fluoridate and seal their teeth.
Sports protection for the teeth
Our leisure habits have changed enormously in recent years. With certain trend sports, the importance of jaw protection has also taken on a completely new significance.
Unfortunately, practical experience shows that mouthguards are often only ordered after the jaw or a tooth has been damaged.Preventive measures must be given top priority here.
Effective mouthguards that are comfortable to wear are no longer a problem for modern dentistry. In collaboration with our practice, specially trained dental technicians will manufacture your customized mouthguard.
The precise fit not only results in perfect shock absorption, but also allows you to speak, drink and breathe effortlessly. The mouthguard is an important all-round protection because it protects teeth, gums, jawbones and joints in equal measure. For your own safety, the following sports should never be played without a mouthguard:

Bleaching
We make your smile shine again
White teeth look particularly attractive and well-groomed. They have a positive influence on self-confidence and make you cheerful, open and happy. Unfortunately, however, teeth are not always naturally white, but are often discolored and then appear much less appealing
With professional, supervised home bleaching, we gently and carefully whiten your teeth within 2 - 3 weeks and help you to achieve a naturally white smile.
Power bleaching
Some people can hardly wait to have whiter teeth as quickly as possible. There is a solution for this too: bleaching in the dental practice - you will have visibly whiter teeth after just one hour.
Powder jet tooth cleaning
Our dental hygienists use the main working device Airflow to remove stubborn stains. This works in a similar way to sandblasting - but of course not with sand, but with a soft glycine powder, which we now use in various flavors. If you haven't experienced it yet, you can hardly imagine how pleasant a tooth cleaning can be. Afterwards, you'll feel pore-deep clean and not scratched for three days like before.
Tooth jewelry
Would you like to add that special something to your radiant smile?
Then dental jewelry is just the thing for you! The gemstone, also known as a twinkle, is gently and painlessly bonded to your tooth in just a few minutes using a transparent plastic. Your teeth remain unharmed. The gemstone does not interfere with speaking or eating and allows you to take care of your teeth as usual.
If you no longer like the dental jewelry after a certain time, we can remove it again without damaging the tooth.
General information
Single tooth anesthesia
The decisive factor is a pain-free, gentle treatment technique
.When treating individual teeth (e.g. fillings, crowns, etc.), we do not use traditional injections with an anaesthetic syringe. Instead, the tooth is anaesthetized using the modern intraligamentary (peripress) technique.
This is a great advantage, especially for patients with a fear of injections:Dental treatments with anesthesia:

Kofferdam
A nonlatex "plastic tent" is used to completely isolate the tooth or dental arch to be treated from the oral cavity. This allows old fillings (such as amalgam) to be completely removed without coming into contact with the mucous membrane and oral cavity and without the foreign material being swallowed.
The use of a rubber dam for absolute drainage has become indispensable in modern tooth-preserving measures (e.g. composite/ceramic fillings, root canal treatments) and is a must for optimal and promising treatment.
This is why we use a rubber dam in our practice whenever possible.
Our dental treatments in detail
Conservative (conservative) dentistry
This area of dentistry includes all tooth-preserving measures such as filling therapy with plastic materials (high-quality aesthetic plastic) or inlay fillings (ceramic, gold).
If the tooth nerve is inflamed, root canal treatment can help to preserve the tooth. We use special instruments to prepare the tooth (mechanical preparation) and determine its length (endometry). The advantage of this is that the number of x-rays taken during root canal treatment can be reduced.
Parodontology (gum treatment)Fighting the plaque
The term "periodontium" refers to the structures that surround the tooth: Bone, gums and fibers that hold the tooth in the bone. These tissues can become infected and inflamed by bacteria, a condition we call "gingivitis" or "periodontitis" (periodontal disease).
Inflammation in the mouth affects the whole body and can affect the heart, brain, blood sugar, respiratory system, joints and increase the risk of premature birth.
Therapy
Therapy begins with the removal of all hard and soft deposits (tartar and plaque). This is followed by instructions on how the patient can prevent these plaque deposits with their daily oral hygiene. These first steps are usually carried out by the dental hygienist, in severe cases by Dr. Tritten himself. In the best case scenario, after this first phase, only regular hygiene sessions with the dental hygienist, scheduled at certain intervals, are required to keep the periodontal situation stable. In the worst case, it may be necessary to extract a hopeless tooth. In some cases, however, surgical intervention is also required to stabilize or anatomically improve the periodontal situation.
These procedures are now performed in a minimally invasive manner with the appropriate aids (magnifying glasses, microsurgical instruments) and possibly supported with the right medication to achieve the best possible result. In some cases and in special cases, it is even possible to regenerate lost bone or soft tissue.Know-how and experienceDr. Tritten has completed several years of further training in this field at the Clinic for Periodontology and Bridge Prosthetics at the University of Bern Dental Clinics. He completed this with the title of specialist dentist in periodontology SSO. All periodontal diseases must be thoroughly clarified in advance and individually planned and discussed. Ask us for possible solutions - we will be happy to advise you!
Prosthetics include fixed and removable dentures. This also includes restorations that are supported on implants.
Fixed dentures include crowns and bridges to restore chewing function and aesthetics in the anterior and posterior region. There are various materials to choose from (ceramics, precious metals and non-precious metals), which are individually tailored to the patient's dental situation and wishes.
Removable dentures include all types of dentures, for example telescopic work, attachment work, implant-supported replacements or complete dentures.
Our high-quality prosthetic work is produced in an external laboratory by experienced dental technicians.
Surgical dentistryIn the operating room
Surgical dentistry (or oral surgery) involves surgical procedures on the jawbone, gums and, in some cases, soft tissue. These range from simple tooth extraction to complex wisdom tooth removal and from complex root tip resections (removal of the root tip) to bone and gum augmentation.
This is what happensAll surgical procedures are carried out under sterile conditions in our practice. For these procedures, we have special surgical equipment, instruments and special microsurgical utensils with which we can use our many years of experience to work with the latest and most successful methods.
Know-how and experience
Dr. Tritten has completed one year of further training in this field at the Department of Stomatology and Periodontology at the University of California, San Francisco. All surgical cases must be well clarified, planned and discussed in advance. General diseases and medication must also be included in this planning - we will be happy to advise you!
Firmly anchored
Dental implantology was founded over 40 years ago. The most important developments at that time took place in Switzerland and Sweden. Much has changed in the meantime. The shape has become helical, the materials used today are pure titanium and zirconium, and the applications have become simpler and more diverse.
What is a dental implant?Implants are primarily used to replace a lost tooth root. After healing, a prosthetic tooth replacement (individual crowns, bridges or removable dentures) is attached to it. The bone around the implant is often widened or raised at the same time as the implant is placed, but optimum oral hygiene and regular check-ups with us are prerequisites for long-term success. All implant cases must be well clarified in advance and individually planned and discussed.
Ask us for possible solutions - we will be happy to advise you!Endodontics (root canal treatment)
Endodontics or endodontology is primarily concerned with the treatment of diseases of the inner tissues in the tooth (pulp or tooth pulp); this is referred to as root canal treatment. Endodontic treatment includes measures to save the pulp and - if this is no longer possible - to restore bacteria-free conditions in the root canal and the adjacent tissues near the root tip.
The aim is to preserve the tooth and permanently protect the body from the discomfort that can result from a diseased dentition.
Orthodontics (correction of the position of the teeth)
Orthodontics deals with the diagnosis and treatment of misaligned teeth and jaws. The appliances and devices used for this purpose are commonly referred to as "braces".
Invisible dental bracesAs the latest treatment option for correcting misaligned teeth, we offer our patients innovative technology with splints.
With a series of transparent, thin aligners, the patient's teeth move to the desired position during aligner therapy. The aligners are worn for approximately 2 weeks and millimeter by millimeter the teeth move to the position that the practitioner has calculated for the patient. The aligners do not restrict the quality of life in any way. They are transparent, do not interfere with speech and are removed for dental care and eating.
More and more patients not only want healthy teeth, but also have high expectations when it comes to dental aesthetics. Aesthetic, beautiful teeth are the best adornment for a good appearance. The beauty of a face is determined not least by our teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry offers numerous options to achieve the goal of an aesthetic smile with beautiful teeth. We will be happy to explain them to you.
Holistic dentistry is a form of therapy that goes beyond the mere treatment of symptoms. The mouth and its teeth are part of the human body and therefore interact with it in various ways, which is why holistic dentistry is recommended in order to determine the causes of certain (dental) diseases.
Holistic dentistry means dentistry that takes the whole body into account
Amalgam fillings have fallen into disrepute in recent years due to the mercury they contain. They can contribute to heavy metal contamination of the body. The consequences can be various types of complaints. Some patients are allergic to mercury or other amalgam ingredients. Amalgam restoration requires a careful and highly professional approach in order to prevent additional exposure to toxic substances. In our practice, we have both the necessary equipment and many years of experience to ensure your safety.
