Siemens Schweiz AG – Contacts & Location
Description
Siemens once again increased its sales in Switzerland in the past fiscal year (01.10.2021 to 30.09.2022). The sales revenue of the Siemens companies increased to 2.886 billion Swiss francs. As one of the largest technology employers in the country, Siemens employs over 5,900 people in Switzerland.
Thanks to the robust basic business and further growth in the digitalization environment, Siemens was again able to increase its sales in Switzerland last year. The significant growth compared to the previous year (CHF 2.132 billion) was also driven by the merger of the medical technology company Varian with Siemens Healthineers. The number of employees in Switzerland also rose slightly to 5,912 following the sale of the two business units Yunex AG and Siemens Postal Services.
While most business units were able to increase their sales, the Digital Industries business unit, Siemens' industrial and drive technology division, in particular saw a surge in growth this year. Matthias Rebellius, the member of the Siemens Managing Board responsible for Switzerland worldwide, is satisfied with fiscal year 2022: "Despite a difficult market environment, practically all business units contributed to Siemens largely achieving its targets in Switzerland. As a focused technology company, we support our customers every day in achieving their sustainability and digitalization goals and have also made great progress in the area of electromobility in the past year." Siemens is leading by example when it comes to sustainability. For example, Siemens is currently expanding its solar systems at various locations with suitable roof areas. And in 2023, the research and development building at the new Siemens Campus in Zug will be completed - from then on, the campus, including the production building, will be completely climate-neutral and operated with the latest Siemens technology.
Siemens is playing a key role in the digitalization of infrastructure and is driving forward decarbonization. The company is present in all parts of the country and at over 20 locations and has a strong market position in building technology and energy distribution (Smart Infrastructure) as well as in industrial and drive technology (Digital Industries). Siemens also has a leading market position in Switzerland in rail technology (Siemens Mobility). The independent companies Siemens Energy and Siemens Healthineers are present in Switzerland as leading providers of power generation and medical technology respectively.
The global activities of Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) are managed from the headquarters in Zug. Matthias Rebellius is CEO of this global business with around 70,000 employees.
