1936 : Moved to Rue du Rôtillon in Lausanne for 7 years, then moved store to Rue Centrale 29 and lab to Rue Centrale 31
1964 : Business taken over by Jean-Jacques Golay (my father)
1970: Expansion of the bakery by taking over other premises to open a bakery-tea-room and this still on rue Centrale
1985 : First contacts with the municipality of Saint-Légier for the creation of a Tea-room bakery. At the time, the municipality's wish was to revitalize the village of Saint-Légier. The latter decided to retain the Golay family to fulfill this task.
1986 : Opening the doors of Boulangerie les Arcades to its new clientele on February 26, 1986
1991 : In September, I was awarded the title of Chevalier du Bon Pain, followed by six stars to date! It's been 29 years since I became one of the elite bakers in the canton of Vaud, from the moment I obtained my title to my sixth star. A brief explanation : Obtaining the title of Chevalier du Bon Pain is based on a valuation of the merchandise established by three judges who rate the product on its appearance, color, baking, smell, taste and crumb texture. This taxation is always done on the half-white pound, one bread chosen by the candidate and the third by the taxmen on the day of their visit.A minimum of 270 points for the three products is required for three years in a row to qualify for the title of Chevalier du Bon Pain and then for the famous stars.
1998 : Takeover of the Boulangerie by myself, Jean-François Golay, 3rd generation.
A fourth generation (François) had decided to continue the adventure, but after obtaining his CFC with flying colors and practicing a few years within the bakery, he decided to take another turn in his professional life.
I have 9 employees, 5 in sales and 4 in production.
