Hotel Garni Rio offers excellent transport links. Moreover it is within a short walking distance of all main attractions: Lake Maggiore, the Piazza Grande, the Visconti Castle, the old town and the funicular to Madonna del Sasso in Orselina and Cardada-Cimetta, the mountain above Locarno. Its central location makes the hotel the perfect choice for anyone attending the Film Festival, the Moon & Stars concerts, Locarno on Ice or the Camellia Festival. It is also the ideal place to stay for hikes or visits in the beautiful Ticino region. Hotel Garni Rio is situated in a magnificent 19th century villa that was renovated in 2013 in order to return it to its original grandeur while offering modern comforts. It has a splendid facade, stylish stained-glass windows, ceiling paintings on the ground floor, an onyx reception desk and decorative mirrors from the historic Grand Hotel Locarno. The hotel counts 16 twin rooms, 3 single rooms and 1 Junior Suite, all newly refurbished. One of the twin rooms is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
